GET YET YA YAS OUT: EMPIRE BEATS AND THE JUKE JOINT REVUE CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Camille Atkinson with Empire Beats

Camille Atkinson strutted on stage at the Bowery Electric dressed in a fitted black dress, boa, tiara and a glass of burbon - ready to celebrate the one year anniversary of Empire Beats and the Juke Joint Revue.

Five piece band, Empire Beats, rocked the house with rhythm and blues while vocalist, Atkinson, hosted a night of burlesque and comedy. The Juke Joint Revue's catwalk and runway included performances by: Falana Fox, Lily Faye, Genie Adagio, Rosie Cheeks, Dolly Debutante and Lavinia Draper.

As the audience hooted and hollered, these sexy pin-up gals incorporated their own unique character into each solo.  Atkins belted out some of our favorite tunes; "It's a Man's World" by James Brown, "Putty In Your Hands" by The Shirelles, and "Black Coffee" by Ella Fitzgerald. The group also performed more current songs like "Girl With One Eye" by Florence and The Machine, as well as a few Empire Beats originals.

If you missed the performance at Bowery Electric, don't worry - the act will be at the Parkside Lounge tomorrow night!
