EXPERIENCE FESTIVAL

Spring has finally sprung in New York - and just in time for some of our favorite festivals!

Last weekend we kicked off the summer by dinning and dancing in Prospect Park.  At The Great GoogaMooga Festival we ate and drank from New York’s top restaurants and leading wineries/breweries.

It was the perfect opportunity to discover new dishes and amazing musical acts right in our own backyard.

Images include performances from
the Yeah Yeah Yeahs,The Darkness, and The Flaming Lips:

Some New Yorkers started celebrating the festival season a month in advance all the way across the States at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in LA.

Untapped Fashion and Music hosted an evening in honor of the inauguration to Coachella via a Red Carpet Fashion Gala, while raising awareness for F Cancer. The event was sponsored by the Crescent Hotel Beverly Hills and took place at SUR Lounge with Ken & Lisa Vanderpump.

The evening was filled with celebrity guests, DJs and artists from all over the world - including New York designers: Tess JohnsonJimmy SwaggLEOTA as well as a celebrity DJ set by DJ Lindsay Luv

- Jordana Hazan and Jaclynn Brennan -

If you couldn't make it out to either event - don't worry…
the season just started!

Rock It Like A Redhead

We celebrated St. Patrick's weekend in the best possible way… RED!
Adrienne and Stephanie Vendetti (our new favorite redheads) proved that redheads really rock.

Rock It Like A Redhead featured perfect hair products, beautiful cosmetics, delicious appetizers and sweet drinks.

60 Reade had the house packed with vibrant, outgoing and proud redheads! Guests received complimentary makeovers by Whip Hand Cosmetics and manicures by Incoco, while enjoying red velvet cupcakes by Sweet Generation and Malibu Red cocktails.

The evening ended on a fashionable note - a fashion show with collections from: DANA-MAXX, Oasis and WarehouseModels and designers, also redheads, featured colors and styles that were most appropriate for redheaded beauties.

Keep your eye out for How To Be Red coming to a city near you… an event you surely do not want to miss!

NEW YORK FASHION RECAP

February is known as the month of love by most, but fall fashion for many. As this month came to an end, fashionistas were inspired across the globe. Although models rocked the runway from Paris to London... nothing tops New York Fashion Week!

New York Fashion Week coincided with this seasons craziest blizzard - but we New Yorkers wouldn't let the weather hold us back from putting our best foot forward.

As our fashion icons graced the runway at Lincoln Center's main stage - PUMP Press went in the field to scout out some up and coming designers. We were completely blown away with our findings and are very excited to share our top favorite events with you!

Very Avant Garde:
Long Tran is reminiscent of the dramatic designs of Alexander McQueen. This dark and misty collection included design elements featuring: supple leathers, silks, wool, feathers, engineered fabrics and geometric shapes.
Comfy ready-to-wear:
Jacob Taylor got us excited to party with their warm colors and upbeat patterns. Their jersey/cotton fabrics and daring cuts could be most comparable to American Apparel… but with a sexy edge. https://jacobtaylorbrand.miiduu.com

Fashion for a cause:
Untapped Fashion & Music Showcase partnered with the Make A Wish Foundation to present some of New York's hottest emerging designers. Rather than models strutting down the catwalk, each collection was presented in form of a showcase.

With a lineup so diverse... there was something for everyone!

Top Model Debut:
Sexy, flirty and fun - former America's Next Top Model contestant Isis King showed us a wild side as she shared her Fall 2013 line. This is certainly a brand we are going to keep our eyes on… we are dying to see more!

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY

Tomorrow night The Living Room is presenting Mary Bragg! This performance is extra special as it is their final residency show at the cozy cabaret.

PUMP Press had the opportunity to check out this southern belle
and we were completely blown away. She was able to take us from the chaos of New York City and bring us to the simple life of the south. Her strong voice and raspy southern twang left the audience in awe of her as they hung on every last note.

Mary Bragg plays her voice like an instrument - she can belt out a dynamic vibrato and effortlessly release a soft, sexy whisper. Her romantic thoughts were delivered with such emotion that we felt every note as it sent chills down our body.

Not only does Mary have a phenomenal voice, but she stands in front of an amazingly talented group of musicians. Mary Bragg and her band truly have the whole package, amazing lyrics and inspiring composition… it is surely a matter of time before they are scoring music to a motion picture or TV drama.

So, grab your sweetheart and head to the Living Room for an early Valentine's treat! Don't have a Valentine? It's okay… they have two bars!

CURVY WOMEN ROCK

Q: How does PUMP Press like to spend a Wednesday night?
A: 40 stories high, enjoying our favorite complimentary glass of wine and gawking at the catwalk.

Lucky for us, that is exactly what we did during the Loving Curves Collective Fashion Show at the Sky Room Luxury Rooftop. As the audience filled the room, excitement filled the air.

The show started on time and each presentation wowed the crowd. Designs featured Anderson Couture, Icel NY, B Pretty INC, Rue 114 and JNJ Accessories.

Loving Curves Collective is an empowerment organization who prides in showcasing the beauty of curvy woman and expressing the importance of self-esteem.

Don't miss out! Loving Curves Collective is presenting an amazing lineup February 6th - coinciding with the NYFW kick off.

FROM THE COUNTRYSIDE TO THE BIG SCREEN: STEPHANE WREMBEL ET SA GUITARE

Monday night we visited the Empire Hotel Rooftop Lounge to unwind and enjoy the entertaining sounds of the Stephane Wrembel Trio.

Does that name sound familiar? Well, it should! Stephane Wrembel scored the theme to Woody Allen's 2012 Academy Award winning film "Midnight In Paris" and also composed the soundtrack to Woody Allen's 2008 smash hit "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."

Wrembel is currently based in Brooklyn, but learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside of Fontainbleau. His melodies paint us a picture so full of emotion that it allows you to escape from reality and imagine. When you close your eyes and listen, you will envision his story so clearly that no song lyrics are necessary, just the voice of his guitar.

In one song, he gave us an intriguing tune where you could imagine traveling or exploring an unknown place and then in another tune, he quickly took us away and fled us down cobble stone streets where we were introduced to a romantic Spanish inspired theme, perhaps fitting for a love scene? Well… that was the story we got. We dare you to try- download his new record, Origins - close you eyes and see where his melody takes you!

The interesting thing about a Wrembel composition is that it is not for any particular genre. If you love good music, you will love Stephane Wrembel. He is undoubtedly one of the most original guitar voices in contemporary music.

Stephane Wrembel Trio is about to take a brief tour, so if you don't live in New York - we strongly suggest you take advantage and check him out when they visit a city near you! Please visit here to view a full list of upcoming performances.
