BRANDI CARLILE TO PLAY TWO NIGHTS AT BEACON THEATRE

Pacific Northwest native songstress Brandi Carlile is heading to New York City's Beacon Theatre this Sunday and Monday, October 28 and 29, in support of her new album Bear Creek. Named after the barn-turned-studio where it was recorded just outside of Seattle, Bear Creek takes Brandi back to her country roots, infusing them with a little rock n'soul.

From singing backup vocals for an Elvis impersonator at age 16 to recording a duet with Elton John, recording with T-Bone Burnett and touring with Ray LaMontagne, The Avett Brothers, Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow and Dave Mattews (who is a huge fan), Brandi has come a long way.

Over the last eight years Carlile has enjoyed groundbreaking success, headlining and selling out major shows and venues across the United States and the rest of the world. Working her way up from busking at Seattle's famous Pikes Place Market, to fronting her six-piece band and leading a symphony; Carlile has earned her reputation as a fearless and consummate performer who is undoubtedly in a class of her own.

Brandi donates $1 from every concert ticket sold to The Looking Out Foundation , which she created in 2008 to aid charities such as The If Project, MusiCares, RED, Reverb, Fight The Fear Campaign and The United Nations World Food Programme.

She's participating in 30 songs / 30 days , which supports the Half the Sky Movement in its misison to turn oppression into opportunity to women worldwide.
